In 776 BC, a religious festival emerged to honor the god Zeus. The Olympics.
In Ancient Greece wars were put on hold for the one day event. It was a time to honor the human body and mind as both of them required discipline.
I have been looking forward to the Olympics and Opening Ceremonies for months. I even watched Olympic trials for multiple sports last month.
During the Olympics I am glued to the tv, rooting for TEAM USA and thoroughly enjoy all the bios about athletes from around the world. Its an opportunity to learn about other countries, cultures and dedicated athletes.
This year more than in Olympics passed I am looking forward to a break from the heavy, negative feeling that is floating out there.
In honor of this break I have decided to turn our kitchen into a "self serve French Bistro" offering a wide variety of crepes.
Thursday night everyone received a crepe menu to fill out. They could select as many crepes as they wanted, most chose 2 savory and 2 sweet. The sweet are really the best.
We had a great time creating our yummy crepes, eating and watching the opening ceremonies. Even Cutie E enjoyed a crepe.
The Olympics are a time when the world seems to come together in unity around athletes, sports and the ever present determined human spirit. No matter what we are striving to achieve we can do it a little FASTER, a little HIGHER and a bit STRONGER when we do it together with kindness.
I hope to enjoy these Olympics with my two CUTIES, my Hun and family. Once they are over I will look forward to the 2026 winter games in Croatia. That means new foods to try.
